Flower series – ongoing

Series based on monthly flowers, kind of like birthstones but with flowers! I originally intended these to be for a calendar following up the Gemstone one (see below) but I prefer to see how people connect with their month individually!

January's flower - Carnation! Also named the "flowers of the gods" and traditionally used in Greek ceremonial flower crowns, carnations represent devotion, love and fascination. Pink carnations symbolise gratitude. Red carnations symbolise admiration. White carnations symbolise purity. Orange carnations symbolise desire. Dark red/maroon carnations symbolise love and affection. Yellow symbolises rejection and purple capriciousness, so I didn't include them in this nice bouquet!

Zodiac series

When I was very young I designed characters based on the Western Zodiac and made my own comic about them. While that comic will never be shared, there was a series of illustrations of each of the characters that I drew in roughly 2007 that I’ve been wanting to recreate now that I’m a more established artist. Each new character is updated to my current sensibilities, but at the same time is an homage to the character that’s been part of my art journey for decades. I wouldn’t be who I am now without these girls, so it’s an honour to be able to share them with you.
Each illustration also includes the sign’s constellation, symbol, ruling planet, element, quadrant position and season (southern hemisphere) and flower.
