About

HELLO!
My name is Emma Butz, and Raye Sommers is my creative artist identity. I’m an Australian illustrator and graphic designer with a passion for creating emotive, colourful and unique artworks.

I believe that when I enjoy creating art, and when that art has real emotion behind it, that those emotions and joys translate to the viewer. My original artworks are like pieces of my heart being shared with the world, and my fan art is of stories that mean something to me. Art is an experience, and sharing my artworks online or at in-person stalls is to share those emotional experiences with others. I love to help visually express the ideas of others too – their own original characters, meaningful tattoos, portraits of their loved ones and more! I feel honoured to lend my skills to bringing the visions of others to life.
I hope that my art connects with your heart and tells you a beautiful story.

When I’m not drawing or designing I’m likely playing video games, sewing or trying to learn Japanese, violin and/or kendo. I survive on coffee. My hair changes colour often, and my cat is my boss.

What I can do for you

Like my style? Have an amazing idea for something new? Let’s collaborate and create something beautiful together! Illustration is my main focus and passion, but I do offer graphic design services too, if that’s what I can help with!

I am currently open for commissions! Please see the Hire me tab for information on how that all works, and send me an email or message me through the Contact me tab to start a wonderful collaboration together! I’d love to create something amazing with you!

Think one of my artworks would look great in your home? I sell prints online via Etsy – see the Shop tabs above. I also sell in-person at stalls around Australia, so please take a look at the News section on my homepage for my up-coming showcases – I’d love to see you there!

Stay in touch!

If you’d like to see more of my art and stay updated with what I’m up to (and inevitably see photos of my cat!), please follow me on my social media channels!
